The New Intel Refresh of i7 and i5 processors

As people may well know for a while now, on the 9th of January the NDA was lifted for e-commerce websites to start listing and selling the new refresh of Intel processors.

What does this mean for people looking to build a new computer, it means that if your looking to buy a i7 or i5 processor you should check these out instead.

This next picture shows benchmarks of the Intel i7 950 vs the new Intel i7 2600k ( the 2600k in Black )

As you can see the performance of these chips even at stock are pretty good for gaming.

Overclocking ?

It is said that with the new refresh Intel recommend you do not go over 1.35-1.38v Cpu voltage as this could cause long term damage - the ram is also kept under 1.5v voltage as well

With the voltage mentioned you can keep a 4.6Ghz 24/7 on these chips with no issues at all, with some people exceeding this voltage and going for an astonishing 5.735GHZ!

Post into the comments anything else you may want to ask.
